Players shall be fully paid bona fide members of the Club they represent and may play for one club only in each season’s Competition.

Matches will normally be played on MONDAY EVENINGS and shall be played on the dates drawn by the Management Sub-Committee and advised to Clubs before the commencement of the Competition.   Matches shall NOT be re-arranged except for the SOLE REASON of ground or weather conditions being unfit on the night, except that if the ‘Home’ ground is unfit the match may be switched to the Away ground by agreement of all concerned.     The Final will be played at a ground nominated by the Management Sub-Committee.

The Umpires shall be appointed by the New Forest Association of Cricket Umpires and shall be entitled to expenses as notified to Clubs before the Competition.   Should one or both Umpires not attend for any reason the match shall be played under arrangements made by both Captains (and the Umpire present, if applicable) and the result will count.   Each Club to supply a Scorer or one of their players shall act as Scorer and will not be able to bat or bowl.    The Home Club shall be responsible for advising their opponents and the Umpires as soon as possible, and the Competition Secretary within 24 hours, of any re-arrangement or cancellation and failure to do so will render them liable to the fine as per Constitution Rule 15.   The Home Club will also be responsible for providing the match ball which shall not be a new ball, and spares.

Play to start at no later than 6.15pm.     A team not ready to play by this time shall forfeit the toss (even if already made) and the opposing Captain shall have choice of innings.    A side unable to start the match by 6.30pm shall forfeit the match on option of opposing Captain.    The decision of the appointed Umpires will be final.

If, in the opinion of the Umpires, the ground or weather conditions deteriorate to the point where it is unreasonable or dangerous to continue, then play shall be suspended for a maximum of TEN MINUTES.     If a resumption is not then possible and a result cannot be obtained under Rule 6, then the match will be played the FOLLOWING Friday.    If conditions are still unfit on the Friday then the Monday (and if necessary the Friday) of the next week shall be used.   Should it prove impossible for ANY REASON to replay within the time allowed (the Committee may give an extension in cases e.g. of prolonged bad weather) then the tie will be decided by an appropriate test of skill (e.g. a ‘bowl off’) or toss of a coin as decided by the Captains.

If a bowler is unable to complete an over due to injury/suspension then the fielding Captain shall nominate another bowler to complete that over.     This over shall be counted against the allocation of both bowlers.

a:  The side scoring the greatest number of runs in its completed innings shall be the winners, except that if a match is abandoned after more than 10 over’s have been bowled in the second innings.   The match will be decided on a run rate to 2 decimal places.    Calculate 1st innings run rate, multiply by number of over’s completed in second innings.

b:- If runs in total are identical, the side losing the fewer wickets shall be the winners.  If this does not produce a decision the side conceding the fewer “extras” shall be the winners.

A Result sheet shall be completed and signed by both Captains.    The WINNING CLUB will be responsible for posting the Results sheet to the Competition Secretary (to be received within SEVEN DAYS of match) AND GIVING TELEPHONE NOTICE OF RESULT WITHIN 24 HOURS.
