Nick Gossip said that both Knock Out Cup finals were played in the right sprit with a good turnout at each final.  He thanked Trevor Phillips for the programme at the Stone Cup giving a short history of the competition and the competing clubs. He relayed the sad news that Ray Mortimer had resigned from the NFCCA Committee due to ill health.  Ray had been a stalwart member and main organiser since the early days of league cricket in the New Forest.  He thanked Alan Sturgess the NFCCA Secretary for his sterling effort.  Derek Hopkins has agreed to take the post of Vice Chairman and during the year we have co-opted two new Committee persons Andy Tuck from Lyndhurst & Ashurst and Roger Porter from Beaulieu.  Roger has agreed to fill the role of Competition Secretary which was vacated by Ray Mortimer. Roy Thomas will also be leaving the committee as he has new employment and unable to commit the time to NFCCA.  Finally Nick stated that he was saddened by the demise of Swan Green, one of the most photographed grounds in the country that will shortly be returned to forest grazing.

  1. Treasurer’s Report

The Association’s Accounts for the period ending 31st December 2017 were circulated and explained by Tony Leadbetter.  The summary for the NFCCA in 2017 was.  Income of £1,375.00 was made up of £800 subscriptions from member clubs and £575 knock out cup entry fees.

The Expenditure was £1,233.13 giving a net Income on the year of £141.87

The total funds in the joint bank account were shown as being £4742.55

The cost of Knock Out cup trophies had again been reduced but the poor level of entries had meant that income failed to cover costs but only by £ 53.98

Copy of the summary of accounts is attached

The NFJCA Accounts can be reviewed in their AGM minutes

Acceptance of the NFCCA portion of the account was proposed by Iain Soutar and seconded by Arthur Stickland.

  1. Secretary’s Report

  1. Umpires’ Report

Tony Leadbetter reported it had been a busy year and all the competition requirements had been covered with the exception of one Stone Cup game that had been rearranged without the umpire’s knowledge.

  1. Knock Out Cups

Ray Mortimer had resigned during the year due to ill health.  As per the Chairman’s report the meeting were asked to formerly accept Ray as a Life Vice President.  The vote was unanimous and was followed by a round of applause to recognise the amount of time and effort Ray had put into local cricket over many years.

2017 competition had been a success albeit with a much reduce entry.  Sway appeared in both finals.

Pylewell Park had held the cup for 3 years but in the final Sway were the worthy winners.
