Minutes of New Forest Club Cricket Association Annual General Meeting
Held at Langley Manor CC on Monday 30th January 2017
The Meeting was opened at 7.12 pm
Bashley Rydal, Beaulieu, Bramshaw, Bransgore, Brockenhurst, Burley, Cadnam, Calmore Sports, Fawley, Hyde, Hythe & Dibden, Langley Manor, Lymington, Lyndhurst & Ashurst, Michelmersh & Timsbury, Mudeford, New Milton, OT’s & Romsey, Paultons, Pylewell Park, Redlynch & Hale, Sway, Totton & Eling, Wellow & Plaitford cricket clubs.

Apologies were received from Monty Green, Mike Race and Ray Mortimer
The minutes of the previous meeting, having been circulated, were taken as read. They were unanimously confirmed acceptance was proposed by A, Stickland and seconded by R Biddlecombe and adopted as a true record of the meeting.
There were no matters arising from the minutes.
The Association’s Accounts for the period ending 31st December 2017 were circulated and explained by Tony Leadbetter. The summary for the NFCCA in 2016 was. Income of £1,335.00 was made up of £830 subscriptions from member clubs and £505 knock out cup entry fees.
The Expenditure was £1,363.81 giving a net Expense above Income on the year of - £28.81
The total funds in the joint bank account were shown as being £4,846.57
The cost of Knock Out cup trophies had been reduced in line with previous AGM comments but the poor level of entries had meant that income failed to cover costs yet again
Tony mentioned that the HSBC Bank in Totton was due to close which would possible mean moving the account to a different local bank.

Acceptance of the NFCCA portion of the account was proposed by N. Gossip and seconded by Roger Porter.
Alan Sturgess said it had been a quite year for communication. However he had been asked to inform the meeting that our President Vic Loveless was a little better following a period of ill health.
A difficult year for New Forest Cricket. 16 to 18 games had to be re-arranged and grateful thanks go to Ray Mortimer for managing this and also arranging the two Knock out Cup competitions.
The Presidents Cup was won by Lymington and the Stone Cup by Pylewell Park which they dedicated to Colin Todd (Toddy) who was a stalwart of the club and New Forest over 50 team.
The colts day at Langley Manor was a sunny one and extremely successful. Over a one hundred sixty young player signed a card for our President Vic Loveless, who unfortunately could not attend due to ill health. Langley Manor again did a great job of hosting the event and special thanks must go to Anne Craft for organising a terrific day, enjoyed by all.
Several members of the committee are retiring. Monty Green after 48 years on the committee. Dave Hurrell is moving to the Isle of Wight and Mike Race due to work commitment. We extend our grateful thanks to them for their sterling efforts and send our best wishes for the future.
Three new committee members are required, so please help in any way you can.
Sadly, several clubs have folded in the Forest this year, a great pity for cricket in the area. We must hope that 2017 will turn out to be ‘sunny’ and in every way for our teams. Very best wishes from your committee for the coming season.
Tony Leadbetter reported it had been a busy year and all the competition requirements had been covered with the exception of the Presidents Cup semi-final as fixtures were rearranged without the umpire’s knowledge.
He reported that Denis Bachelor had resigned from the umpire panel following problems at a Girls match held at Sway.
Tony advise that the umpires would be running an ‘introduction to umpiring’ course on 3rd and 10th of April at Langley Manor. This course is aimed at Colts managers and parents. But clubs needs to show their level of interest by booking places.

Ray Mortimer felt the 2016 competition had been a success albeit with a much reduce entry. Only 5 clubs in the Presidents Cup and 9 in the Stone.
This year’s entries were again disappointing with only 5 teams so far.
The meeting was advised that the closing date for entries would be extended to 10th February
The draw will take place on 14th February.
Ray Mortimer had sent the following report.
There were 419 ground reports not submitted to HCL during the 2016 season. The HCL Grounds committee are asking for a rule change to make the away captain’s responsible to submitting this report as is the case in the higher leagues. It is hoped this can be made ready for discussion at the AGM on 9th February. However a number of clubs within the Forest had achieved excellent marks for Wicket and Outfield having an average great than 9 out of 10. They were Bashley 4th, Bramshaw 2nd, Bransgore, Cadnam 2nd, Fawley 2nd, Langley Manor 2nd, New Milton 3rd, OT & Romsey 3rd Paultons Park 2nd Redlynch & Hale 2nd, and Sway 1st 2nd & 3rd.
The three awards for the best grounds in the respective leagues covered by the NFCCA were announced and subsequently presented to:
Simon Jones (visitor from HCB) stated that 8 clubs in the Forest area had received funding in 2016 and that the Sport England fund had just opened for applications.
13 Re-election of Committee
We have three resigning committeemen The Chairman thank Monty Green for 48 years of continuous support and wished him well for the future. Dave Hurrell is moving to the Isle of Wight and we wish him well. Mike Race has found work gets in the way of committee so has asked to stand down.
There are two nominations for committee Derek Thomas and Roy Hopkin. That still leaves two committee positions unfilled. N Gossip asked the gathering if anyone would volunteer but there were no nominations from the floor so it was proposed to elect on-block those that were available.
Proposed by Ian Souter Seconded by Ron Biddlecombe and unanimously approved by the members present. So the Officers and Committee elected for 2017 is therefore:-

Treasurer:- Tony Leadbetter
Secretary:- Alan Sturgess
Committee:- Ray Mortimer, Derek Thomas and Roy Hopkins.
Auditor:- Tony Wharton.
14 Presidents and Vice Presidents
Vic Loveless was re elected as President.
Monty Green had completed 48 years on the NFCCA Committee and following his resignation the committee propose he be moved from Life Member to Vice President:-

16 Date of Next Meeting
The date of the next Annual General Meeting was arranged for the last Monday in January, which will be 29th January 2018 at 7pm
There being no other business the meeting was closed
The meeting was closed at 7:45pm
