NEW FOREST U10 DISTRICT CRICKET REPORT SEASON 2010
The under 10 season provided a mixed bag, in terms of results, but not due to lack of effort or enthusiasm. We were lucky to get as a home venue the Hordle Walhampton School facilities.
The season started well with wins over SE Hampshire and North Dorset. However at the May district festival our first fixture was against a very strong North Hampshire side who skittled us out for a mere 33!
Things got better in our second fixture with the side rallying strongly to beat a resilient SE Hampshire side by eight wickets.
The weather got the better of our last festival fixture.
June and July saw a slump in form with two defeats against SE Hampshire and a very strong central district surrey side, before another strong performance and victory against North Dorset District.
The July/August district festival saw two heavy defeats against S.E and N.Hampshire , the troops rallied in the last game against Winchester, with a great knock of 54 not out by Thomas Spencer, but even this was not enough to save us from defeat.
Finally we had two spinners of great promise who represented the county age group coming first and second in the bowling averages.
